Artner Tischlerei

The client

Since 1986, the Artner carpentry workshop in Baumgarten, North Burgenland, Austria, has been making top-quality custom furniture and interior fittings for luxury hotels, shops, airports and private homes.

The task

Our client turned to us with the request that he would like an appropriate representation of his long-standing workshop, expressing the expertise and standards it represents.

Our solution

They had already started the work with another designer, but they failed to go beyond the initial ideas, we had to continue this work. The unique lettering of the logo was created based on the classic Caslon font at the request of our client.

The image was created as a combination of old and modern elements. Next to the classic letter, we chose a letter similar to the one used in technical drawings, and particularly bright colors were added to the otherwise classic color palette, creating a fine balance. In the emblem, we combined the motifs of the tree, the letter "A" and the grain of the tree. We used the joints used in furniture and the patterns created during wood paneling as a basis for the design of the floor patterns.

Storytelling was important when creating the website. We designed parts that emphasize the expertise, the professional history and the family atmosphere of the small team. In the gallery presenting the works, we combined the image display with the reference list, so that the works for which it was not possible to publish pictures were also displayed.
