Dorkó x Halott Pénz

The client

Dorkó is a Hungarian fashion brand founded in 1920, originally producing luxury shoes with Hungarian design and foreign technology. In the 1970s, canvas sneakers became known by the name "Dorkó". The brand was phased out in the 1990s, but was relaunched in 2014 under the leadership of Péter Gém. The revived brand aims to support local artists, musicians and the future of Hungarian sport.

Halott Pénz is a Hungarian rap and hip-hop band. Several of their songs have won Fonogram awards. Their song "Something is in the air" won the award for best hip-hop record. It has not only won critical acclaim but also the audience, with over 39 million views on YouTube.

The task

Dorkó, a well-known fashion brand, asked our team to collaborate with them and the band Dead Money to design a T-shirt collection. Several Hungarian artists were asked to design the pieces for the collection. We were asked to design a pair of t-shirts for their hit song "To go without you".

Our solution

During the sketching and brainstorming phase, we had several meetings with the band's frontman Dávid Marsalkó. After several concepts, the final design was born. Drawing from both the music of Dead Money and the aesthetics of 80s Hip Hop.

The pairs of t-shirts were designed so that one features the familiar "Going without you" and the other the lyric snippet "Na noch mi nem" and can be orphaned side by side.

Dorkó provided the technical backing for the realisation, undertook the production and distribution online and nationally through its network of stores.

The collaboration led to the creation of a successful collection of T-shirts that captured the attention of fans and fashion lovers, raising the profile of the Dorkó brand and demonstrating the power of creative collaborations.
